Join Sanctuary Forest on Saturday, July 20th for From the Forest to the River: A Hike for Kids. Back by popular demand, this easy hike is an opportunity for children ages 3-6 and their families to take a walk with retired teachers Eric & Victoria Shafer through the riparian forest and discover some majestic old-growth redwoods, and play in the Mattole River. Activities will include: plant identification, the capture, identification and release of macro-aquatic invertebrates, salmon artwork, and other other hands-on activities. Bring a lunch and water, and dress for the forest and the river–don’t forget to bring a parent!
