Re: “Prelude to a Sweep

I don't think Linda put the blame (responsibility) entirely on John Shelter; it's clear that many people told the homeless that they could camp there, including yourself!
You have hoped for 25 years that the Eureka citizens would pay for designated campground(s); that's wonderful! Perhaps from the proceeds from your lawsuit, that forced the city to come to grips with it's financial vulnerabilities, YOU may now open a campground to help those in deep poverty???
You know I really do not have a problem with what you did, except that you do not seem to take responsibility for YOUR OWN actions; it was your lawsuit that caused the city to seek to limit it's exposure to potential liability. Your lawsuit, at least in part, caused the closing of Devils playground to the homeless ("those in deep poverty"), and caused the further upheaval in the lives of those in need of a place to "camp".
I am glad that Linda Stansberry and The North Coast Journal put all this together. It is interesting to see what a prominent role in the helping of the homeless you've played. I am sure they are grateful for all your support
