Fire Props

Heidi Walters is to be commended for her fine article about the good and bad aspects of fire, and how tribes are trying to work cooperatively with the Forest Service to use fire as a management tool to protect the forests ("Good Fire, Bad Fire," June 19). She gave excellent background info about how fire was used historically by local tribes, and she did good research and found knowledgeable resource people to give different perspectives. The article hopefully will promote more cooperation as we go into an extremely dry and dangerous fire season.
