This month, Westhaven Center for the Arts presents their film night on the third Friday, (a swap with jazz night!) Friday, January 18th at 7:00 p.m. the movie will be a Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall classic, The Big Sleep (1946). Bogie, as the inimitable private eye Phillip Marlowe on the trail of blackmailers, turns over rocks only to find murders, pornographers, nightlife rogues, spoiled rich teens and more. This whodunnit directed by Howard Hawks, serves up snappy dialogue, shady characters and atmosphere galore. William Faulkner assisted in this cinematic adaptation of noir writer Raymond Chandler's novel. $5-10 sliding
