Eureka Rhody Meeting and Program

Don Wallace is owner of Singing Tree Gardens and Nursery in McKinleyville. Over the past 25 years he has planted, propagated, hybridized, and grown from seed many rhododendrons He is past president of the Eureka Chapter of the ARS and participated as Show Chairman at the Western Regional Conference in Eureka back in 1999 and again in 2017. He has been involved with photography for 25 years and travels every year to photograph gardens up and down the Pacific coast.. Currently, he is hybridizing rhodies for fragrance as well as new and exciting colors. He has been adding more varieties of plants to his nursery every year, including dwarf conifers, heaths, and heathers, flowering trees, unusual shrubs and perennials. The nursery's website www.singtree.com ships plants year 'round to all states except Hawaii and Alaska. Don's program will feature some memorable gardens around Seattle such as on Bainbridge and Whidbey Islands and culminate at the Washington State Arboretum and Kabota Gardens in South Seattle. The meeting will include the usual opportunity drawings and door prize, tasty refreshments, and a nice dose of camaraderie. Particularly on the agenda will be finalizing plans for the following weekend's 47th Annual Rhododendron Show and Plant Sale
