Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces." COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.

Elk River Watershed Restoration Day

When: Sat., Dec. 1, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. 2018
Phone: 707-825-2368
Email: ksouthall@blm.gov
Price: Free
Help reduce erosion and help salmon in the Elk River by removing networks of social trails. Social Trails are informal trails created by human foot traffic that cause erosion. The event will spend time educating the public about salmon habitat and how individuals can have a positive impact in their local watersheds. Volunteers will be covering social trails with redwood needles, fallen branches, and transplanted ferns while improving areas for the public to view spawning salmon safely. A healthy breakfast and lunch will be provided.
