Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces."
COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.
Booklegger invites the public to a reading by local writer, poet,
activist, and educator Dylan Collins on Friday. Oct.18 at 6 p.m.
Collins, who is the host and creator of Word Humboldt, a community
spoken word and open mic series in Arcata, has run creative writing
workshops and participated in spoken word events in communities from
Maine to California. He is celebrating the release of his new book "Love
Poems We Write Ourselves" which he calls a love letter of survival, and
which features poems he has written in the last six years. Admission is
free. Booklegger is located at 402 Second St. in Old Town, Eureka, and
can be reached at 707-445-1344.
