Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces."
COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.
Dry and Dusty is an oldtime/country sister duo from Spokane, Washington. The band is made up of Ruthie and Sally Jablonsky, who grew up playing music with their parents, hiking around in the desert singing cowboy songs, and learning the old tunes from their extended family at festivals and camps. As well as being firmly rooted in the Appalachian fiddle tradition, the sisters write new-old-pop-country-time songs that are crooked and lonesome and true. Since 2011, they have been playing as a band and giving workshops around the northwest.
Join the members of the Sanctuary Choir for a harmony singing workshop hosted by the girls of Dry and Dusty from 4:00 - 5:30. Old time two and three part harmony singing will be explored, and attendees can expect to bring home a new take on some old tunes. Please bring a donation for the teachers.
