Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces." COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.

"Diving with Penguins and Soaring with Albatrosses"

When: Fri., Nov. 8, 7:30 p.m. 2013
Price: Free
Redwood Region Audubon Society is sponsoring this presentation by expedition leader Ted Cheeseman. Ted regularly guides travelers to remote breeding colonies of penguins, albatrosses and other seabirds. We are starting to learn about the amazing feats of these birds (e.g., albatrosses sometimes fly 14,000 miles to bring home just one meal for a chick) just as their populations are being reduced by overfishing and climate change. Ted will describe how recent research methods, especially GPS telemetry, have given us new insights into their lives. Join him on this entertaining journey with some of the world's greatest mariners. Bring a mug for coffee and come fragrance free.
