Re: “Marin Judge Prepares Railroad Slam

For those, like myself, who'd never heard of that explosive event:

By 1973, Antelope still consisted of little more than a general store and a half-dozen homes. At 8:03 a.m. on April 28 of that year, a rail car loaded with aircraft bombs exploded in the southern part of the Roseville switching yard removing all traces of Antelope. The train was loaded with 7,056 defused Mark 81 aircraft bombs of 250 lb (110 kg) each and tanker cars carrying liquefied petroleum."

More at the Wikipedia article on Antelope, CA (Not the best written article, mind.)

Re: “Trouble at the Vista

Just heard about this through private channels and, no doubt about it, it sucks. I'm not blaming Jon; I'm just really bummed about all those kids who *didn't* screw up and now won't be able to get into Vista shows.

On The Placebo front, just wanted to let you know, "We're not dead, yet!" The building? Still closed for shows as we continue the coming-up-to-code process. The organization however, is still around. We've just had to slow down a bit while we focus on the drab but necessary behind-the-scene work.

Next show with be January 26th at the Ink People: Dungeon Master's farewell extravaganza. ALL-AGES We'll post details up at the site as soon as get them.

Re: “The Essential Schlong

Woah, I have that 7"! One of the few that've survived the various moves. I'm having a tough time thinking the members of Schlong would give a sh*t if you posted a full song, but ::shrug:: haven't talked to any of 'em in a good long while.
