Christmas Bird Count

Redwood Region Audubon Society sponsors a Christmas Bird Count in the Willow Creek area, weather permitting. This count is part of the 115th count worldwide that involves over 50,000 observers. It includes Horse Mountain, the South Fork & Main Stem of Trinity River, Salyer and southern Hoopa Valley; see website for map of count circle. Anyone can participate by: 1. providing access to their property, 2. listing birds in their yard or feeder, or 3. joining a team to count a territory (all new birders are paired with veterans). All participants must contact Gary Lester for further info.
