Re: “31 Points About Mass Shootings

32. This violence, racism, white supremacy and their protests would quickly return to obscurity if adherents had access to living wage jobs.

How do we so quickly forget the rise of Nazism from people's economic desperation in the 1930's?

Like the forehead cast-markings (and violence) in India/Pakistan, visit one of America's numerous dollar stores, discount groceries, pawn shops, rent-to-own, or Walmart and look closely at American's teeth.

Wear a bullet-proof vest...

Re: “Coastal Commission: If Trinidad Rancheria Can Find Water, it Can Build its Hotel

Are you kidding?

Water goes to whoever can dig the deepest for it...Casinos, hotels and pot?

No one here has ever seen the movie "Chinatown"??

Prepare yourselves for the violence our county supervisors are inviting.

So many people are unaware that the U.S. has been at war-for-oil for 17 years. millions of refugees from oil wars and climate change with millions more on the way.

Re: “Trinidad Rancheria Believes it May Have Found Water Source for Hotel Project; Sundberg May Have Violated State Lobbying Law

Yeah Hell with water carrying-capacity impacting existing residents and future growth, more sewage flowing onto beautiful beaches, a ruined view, increased traffic and noise and public subsidized infrastructure and studies.

Didn't you know there are hundreds of rooms and idyllic cabins already available all the way to Patrick's Point?

Independent hotels and motels in Eureka have become blighted, vandalized fire-hazards after they began inviting national hotel chains.

Re: “Questions Swirl Ahead of Trinidad Hotel Hearing

How does a project of this magnitude advance this far with so little knowledge of water capacity?

Is that why they hired Eureka's former city manager Tyson?

It took decades of lawsuits and Regional Water Quality Control Board investigations and fines before Eureka's $4 million (1980) Martin Slough sewer interceptor project was finally begun, costing taxpayers $35 million a GENERATION later serving sprawl few taxpayers can afford to own!

Haphazard growth has made Eureka's infrastructure issues chronic with pedestrian, cyclist and motorist fatalities several times higher than state averages.

Having "trickle-down" economic ideologues dominating public policy has been a disaster.

Luffenholtz Creek, like Eureka's Martin Slough Creek, is already impaired and experiencing annual public warnings for fecal coliform contamination.

Greed is unsustainable.

Re: “'Absolutely Preventable'

Condolences to the family.

Maybe if the city of Eureka had faced a $2 million penalty instead of $70,000 for the absolutely avoidable death of 20 year-old Tommy McClain, reforms and better training would have been enacted by city police instead of promoting the perpetrator.

How many more will it take?
