I support Shane Brinton's proposal to require stores in Arcata to list emissions of each model of cell phone that they sell. There is credible evidence that use of hand-held cell phones, especially by children, increases the incidence of brain cancer. The evidence is not yet strong enough to be able to yet say that there is a definite cause-and-effect relationship. I support requiring that cell phone purchasers have information on cell phone emissions so that they can make informed decisions for themselves and their children on which cell phone to buy or whether to use a cell phone at all.
By the way, I don't use a cell phone even though I helped invent cell phones when I was an engineer with Motorola in the late 1970s.
