Darvin DeShazer will present at the Humboldt Bay Mycological Association monthly meeting. The talk will include an introduction to polypores and show several of the common -- and a few of the odd -- polypores found in California. The lecture concludes with a quest of the yellow-pored Ganoderma and the true identity of the California version of the Artist’s Conk. Darvin is a cofounder of Sonoma Mycological Association and serves as their scientific advisor. He also teaches workshops in mushroom identification, truffle ecology and fungal microscopy.
