Book Sale

Friends of the McKinleyville Library will be holding it's monthly 2nd Saturday Sale on June 9th from 1-4pm in the McKinleyville Shopping Center next to the Totem Pole. There will be very good condition used books for sale at very affordable prices; a great opportunity to pick up a book as a gift for Father's Day or some other special occasion. Have a woodworker in the family? Pickup a book about woodworking to inspire a summer project from a large assortment of inspiring donations. June is also Audiobook Appreciation Month. Opportunely, there are many new audobook CD donations to choose from and listen to while traveling this summer. As always, the non-fiction shelves are filled with lots a variety of gardening, cooking, history, biography, adventure, animals, self help, health, and spiritual books. In addition there is a large selection of trade paperbacks, mysteries, science fiction, fantasy, romance and other fiction. Adults and kids of all ages will find fun and interesting books for summer reading. What better gift than the gift of reading? Studies show that reading has 50% more rare words than does prime-time television and provides many more word learning opportunities. What better way to engage the mind?! The popular sidewalk sale has tables full of hard-cover and paperback books at $2 per bag. Bring a recyclable bag and fill it with books and get the best bargain in town. Donations of good condition used books are appreciated and may be brought to the sale site during open hours. Look for the red and white book sale signs to find the book sale site.
