Nothing is off-limits to Sherae O’Shaughnessy, voted by you as Humboldt’s Best Comedian. Whether the topic is sex, race, politics or how you chose to dress when you sat this close to her stage, the Humboldt-glamorous co-founder of the Ba-Dum-Chh comedy troupe says what she wants without apologies. Over the past year, she and her cohorts have worked tirelessly to bring blue comedic sensibilities into local venues that had previously never funnied. (No, thank you very much, she will not tone it down just because this is an airport restaurant.)
In addition to her numerous onstage standup and emcee duties, Sherae is also Humboldt’s social media queen. For examps, recently, she’s been fairly candid on the interwebs about her daughter Ivy's -- nickname “Hot Dog Fingers” -- successes and hardships during the youngster’s first month of kindergarten. A sampling of her tactful Facebook transparency:
“Ivy was stuffed up and cranky today so I kept her home. Her school called me to make sure I was aware she wasn't at school, which I appreciate. But the inflection in this woman's tone suggested that she thought maybe Ivy had ditched class, not been abducted. Autistic 5 year olds these days. Playing hookey from arts and crafts to snort Cheez-Its and bribe hobos into buying them fermented CapriSuns. ANARCHY. When Sponge Bob knocks up my prepubescent daughter, you can all rub this status in my face.”
If only she could pay bills in “likes”…
