Re: “'A Deluge of Expletives'

Stalking, spying, doxing, vandalism, face to face harrassment etc are obviously never okay. But as long as politicians embrace the internet and take every advantage of virtual reality to promote their agendas, online "harrassment" will come with the turf. The same goes for media reps themselves. How old are these politicians to not remember life before the internet? What do they expect? I'd like to see a remergence of importance on print media, which still really truely reaches the broadest spectrum of people. But armchair journalists play it safe and the corporate/political world walks all over them all the easier. Rex Bohn won't talk with the award winning Journal, a fact of his tenure that should be highlighted, and he should be grilled by all media for it. Imagine if the Journal asked all the supervisors all the quesions they'd rather avoid, all the time? A roster of ranking politicians afraid to discuss the nitty gritty aspects of their decisions would be a remarkable story unto itself, and it would require real attention to who's asking whom what above the table.

Personally, I don't want to "be political" with anonymous masses, and the internet allows for mynown anonymous-ish venting. But there are enough people unafraid to step up to the plate in real life that if and when real names are unavoidable, intelligence can prevail. The internet became a lost cause a long time ago already. It's only working to maintain a sick divide between people. Bandwagoning is easier than ever to fall into. It's never going to change, it needs to be acknowledged by the same media that utilizes it.

Re: “'Long Overdue'

Thadeus, it's not only a budget matter, it's an ethical issue to which anybody can chime in. An attorney working for the county, like the public defender, has an important role that's hopefully on the radar of our supervisors. Every election the Journal asks the supervisor candidates what their favorite ice cream flavor is, and such nonsense. How about some real questions about real local issues? Jouralism FAIL.

Re: “'Long Overdue'

In view of the bigger picture, why wasn't Virginia Bass, Eureka's County Supervisor, pressed for comment whatsoever about Day-Wilson's tenure? It was even an election year. Journalist FAIL.

Re: “Know Your Enemies

Well said, anonymous. Another shooting, more predictable gun talk and fear speak, not one mention of the pharmaceutical connection. Been like that since at least Columbine, and the population has literally become over 400 percent more pharmaceutically medicated to "stabilize" behavior since. I attribute the lack of local attention to a journalist's ignorance and laziness. It's quick and easy to jump on the media bandwagon and stamp out a virtually ready-made page of predictably polar text on deadline. But a person paying attention might start to think the corporate/pharmaceutical/major media connection actively keeps their drug deals out of the equation. See how long it takes you, reader, to learn what pills Jarrod Ramos was popping before he flipped out on the Capital Gazette. Took me more than a few minutes. Do so with other mass shooters and violent crimes and read for yourself, the pharmaceutical connection becomes undeniable.

Re: “Know Your Enemies

Screw "the dark corners of the internet". Screw the spotlight on the main stage of the internet while you're at it. Journalism feeding on virtual reality has no integrity. The news has become a runaway bandwagon thanks to the internet.

Re: “Colorado Brown Stain and Fluoridation

Steven Scott, DDS, would put neurotoxic poison in my body against my will, even despite countless alternatives.

Beginning to see how lobbyists work in this golden era, Barry? It's all about that top spot. Steven Scott aka "Ramdy Johnson" would put neurotoxic poison in my body against my will, even despite countless alternatives.
