Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces."
COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.
Friends of the Arcata Marsh and the City of Arcata are sponsoring a reception and panel discussion to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the dedication of the Arcata Marsh Interpretive Center. The event will be held on Thursday, May 30, from 6 to 9 p.m., with a 1-hour reception followed by a trip back in time with those involved in the early days of the Arcata Marsh.
Alex Stillman will moderate a round table featuring Bob Brown, David Couch, Bob Gearheart, Stan Harris, Dan Hauser and Frank Klopp.
The event is free, but advance reservations must be made before 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28. Call 707-826-2359 or email eservices@cityofacata.org to reserve your seat; be sure to give your phone or email contact information. Interpretive Center seating is limited to 65 people. If community response is greater than that, the event will be moved to the Senior Room at the Arcata Community Center. RSVP as soon as possible, so the venue can be finalized.
