Re: “RSVP: I Will Not Attend Your Weed Wedding

Linda, I agree. Worst thing about marajuana (Well, I have a list) is getting behind someone at the super market that stinks like month old dirty bong water. I cannot imagine that at a wedding.

Re: “Chief Mills Proposes Gun Control Law

If your front door or your car is locked isn't that "Under Lock and Key?" The location of the lock is what is in question.

Re: “How to Dine Alone

I have come to the conclusion that I rented the damned table and for the space of time that I reside there I get to do whatever I want, taking into account local laws and mores. Mainly I hope to savor something yummy, chat lightly with the wait staff, and relax a bit.

Re: “EPD Chief: Officers Fired More Than 40 Shots in Tuesday's Pursuit

There is more than one reason to shoot at an armed assailant; One is to disable the opponent, another is to suppress their firing; making them keep their head down and not be able to aim carefully to get in a good shot. Keep the other guy on the defensive. I don't think anyone goes to work thinking that today they're going to be shot at or have to shoot, so there is an adrenaline factor, and there is no plan in such an impromptu situation. At that point, all you can do is your best

Re: “Smarten Up

Terence James Dehart In my experience most people do not want to be led. They would like honest data on which to make an informed decision. Sadly it seems as if the media (Yes, I know, a generality) has decided that it is best if they be guided by the wiser heads who have the power to ration the truth.

Re: “Smarten Up

In my opinion Trump won because so many voters have reached a level of distrust in the media. When The New York Times or Fox News reported on their particular darling it was painfully obvious who the reporters wanted to win. The old school concept of impartiality and objective reporting have gone the way of the dodo, so if a damning fact emerged it was weighed against the media's bias and often discarded, whether it was a real fact or not. Special Investigators and Investigative Committees lost credibility as offense after offense was apparently whitewashed. Trump is the other side of the "Hope and Change" coin. Trump gave folks who've felt disenfranchised Hope that things would actually Change, this time in their direction.

Re: “You and Me and the Keys

You know it's kind of funny. Not ha-ha funny, but odd funny. When I'm out with friends and order coffee or tea and they're all having a few brews they ask me if I don't drink. I respond that I do, but I don't drink and drive. That way if a cop pulls me over I can answer simply No! I haven't been drinking. It's taken a few years for them to accept that about me. Personally I think we as a society need to change the paradigm of having a few and driving. I think there should be more sleep overs, more designated drivers, as the norm. As a motorcyclist I suspect over half of the other drivers out there are impaired in some way. Whether alcohol, pot, meth, opioids, texting, or just plain stupid.
