Re: “Arcata Poised to OK Relocating McKinley. The Question is, Where?

Ebay...Highest bidder.

Use the $ for Arcata schools to teach kids about the costs of our imperial economy that are coming due in the next generation as the economy, environment and society all the past empires...

Re: “'Rid me of This Troublesome Priest'

Is it our culture's history of Protestant sexual repression that causes this crime to be reported unlike all others, without degrees?

Parent's level of outrage is commensurate with their failure to teach their children what is sexually appropriate and inappropriate for their age. Too often parents never talk about it, or they say "no" to everything.

Repression leads to a ribald character and victimization. Education is the solution, same for drugs...

Please watch the HBO special "The Tale" directed and acted by a brave woman who refused to accept society's label of "victim" for her love-affair with a famous athlete when she was 13.

Re: “"This is a Load of Barnacles": SpongeBob Super Bowl Backlash

This cartoon character's back-story only appeared once in local papers.

It was an idea that began with his college roommate who lacked the funds to develop it, or a good lawyer to defend it.

HSU deserved more than $135K.

Re: “A 'Social Change Oath'

Does Trump's garbled messages "make" our community, and nation appear to be a bunch of "idiots"?

You'd have to be an idiot to think that.

The black woman I heard speaking at the march did a fine job.

The suffragettes refused to let Fredrick Douglas speak and condemned his desire to unite two natural allies being oppressed.

Every burgeoning movement faces this struggle.

Re: “It's Greed!

28% are for greenhouse gasses, not CO2.

Correcting a large statistical error with a lesser one, while entertaining, shows the importance of giving this world's most pressing challenge the focus it merits in media, education and government.

Re: “It's Greed!

If most American's trips abroad are for frivolous junkets consuming a ton of jet fuel per-person, that's nearly the same that an average U.S. commuter burns in a year, and probably enough to keep a South American village in cooking fuel for opposed to deforestation.

Scandalous by any measure.
