Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces."
COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.
On January 19, 1809 the world saw the birth of Edgar Allan Poe, recognized as a master of the macabre tale and weird fiction with classic stories that include ‘The Pit and the Pendulum’, ‘The Fall of the House of Usher’, and ‘A Cask of Amontillado’. In honor of his 208th birthday, we invite you to join the Lost Coast’s own macabre practitioner, Carpathian the storytelling spectre, for readings of two of his finest stories, ‘The Masque of the Red Death’ and ‘The Tell Tale Heart’. (A certain feathered friend may also make an appearance…)
