Re: “Dispiriting Law

This was the first I've seen this news! How sad. He had a son. Will their be a memorial?

Re: “Vote for Schools

According to my sample ballot, this initiative would raise taxes on families earning less than $18,000 per year. The solution is to finally correct Proposition 13 so that it no longer applies to business and corporate properties. Oh right, working families have no lobbyists and few real representatives.

Re: “Project Censored

If this marks a new era in community-interest reporting in Humboldt County, Halleluiah!

Re: “Imagine All the Voters …

The biggest election story in a generation continues to be censored...over half the nation's eligible voters never participate! Why would media ever threaten its campaign gravy-train by (correctly) impugning the legitimacy of U.S. election's? Maybe it's their fear of a domestic drone-attack to finally deliver democracy to America?

Re: “Reelection Made Easy

Nothing's "easy" about small town politics corrupted by money and the disgusted majority of eligible voters who always fail to register, or to vote. Geez, I wonder why??? Not one print-media covered the story, nor followed-up, on the corruption surrounding Rex Bohn's campaign. His 2004 campaign was the first in this county to benefit from a phony front-group mailer...this time, he had 6, and not one reporter pushes Mr. Bohn for answers??? Did he ever report the occupations of his 60 top contributors? Who gives a damn, right? Call-out the development community's political dominance and you get way or another.

Re: “Cockburn Country

How curious to invoke the spirit of Cockburn. It reminds me of KHSU's director (McCrone) reminiscing about the glories of the revolutionary 1960's in front of a crowd of 2,000 gathered in Eureka to celebrate the airing of Democracy Now. TEN YEARS after it began! There's a wealth of wonderful, liberal speakers and activists in this area, unlike anything I've known in the past. Please, invite them to your classroom, cover them in the media...or keep lamenting down the road... Your choice.
