I am normally in agreement with calls for compromise. In this case, simple morality does not allow for compromise. There is an obvious an easy choice on this issue. Humans have killed around 95% of the Coast redwood forest. When we talk about impact on these trees, it is imperative that we consider that we as humans have already killed 95% of these forests for our economic benefit. There is no monetary issue can morally justify further impact! Every remaining tree is worth all the wealth on Earth. "Cost more" or "takes longer" are arguments that carry zero weight with a moral and informed person.
