What sort of fantasy world do those folks live who believe that their ownership of guns -- including assault rifles -- will somehow protect them against tyranny? Their weapons, even though there are a lot of them, are pathetic compared to what a tyrannical government would mobilize against them: tanks, mortars, artillery, airstrikes, drones, millions of military/police. Just think of Waco and Ruby Ridge, and that was a government showing great restraint.
