Wow this is horrible! Increase police presence, yes, but don't take away a public space that we ALL own. So the message is go home or pay money to stand inside somewhere but don't come to the town center? That's what it's for! It's beautiful to see everyone together out there making music and being happy. It's great to be able to celebrate in the center of our town under the stars. When I travel I see this all the time. Not just holidays. People go out to public places and hang out together. There can be trouble makers but that's what cops are for. Go after them! Not the rest of us. The drumming and hence the party should have moved to the city hall lawn if they block off our plaza. There needs to be somewhere for all of us to gather for free just to enjoy. And if we see anyone throw a bottle we make sure they're caught. That's not cool! So yes I'll go to the city hall meeting on Jan. 24th at 8am and try to convince them to give back OUR plaza.
