Butt out? Nonpartisan? Somehow I doubt the non-partisan part of the post above this one. When used to describe a political office as "non-partisan", the term refers to the fact that candidates do not run in party primarie as in federal and state elections. It does not mean people who belong to a political party are barred from expressing their preference, whether individually or collectively.
