Brian, why didn't you ask Mr. Arkley about the possibility of transporting coal across that rail line...coal destined for China. Surely no one imagines that it will be lumber! (You may want to read the Time Magazine article from last June) http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,2116131-3,00.html
If you think an east-west rail is a joke, read the current issue of Time Magazine's article, "King Coal's Comeback." I now get it...and of course, true to current practice, no one supporting the project mentioned shipping coal to China.
Re: “Big Beer”
In response to Verbena who said: "Linda Atkins should know that Barbara Groom does not provide living wage jobs in her facilities. That is why Groom opposed the Eureka Fair Wage Act."
Her statement is not true. I know because at the time of the election I personally talked to Ms Groom about the Eureka Fair Wage Act. She opposed it for two reasons...the same reasons that many opposed it: One, it was limited to Eureka and not the whole county, and two, the minimum wage went up too quickly. For the record, I voted for it.
