Just for some perspective, here in Istanbul, residents pay 4.38 TL per liter (1/4 gallon). So 1 gallon of gas costs about 17 TL, which is about $8.50. Think about that, $8.50 per gallon. Of course a lot of that probably comes from taxes, as taxes in Turkey are quite high.
