I concur with the choice of best single-track. I think it's some of the best single track trail in the country. Of course, my opinion is heavily biased.
Does the phrase "White Elephant" ring a bell? If ever there was one, this is it. If these curmudgeons, dreamers, and CalTrans get their way, anybody who doesn't drive a car will be kicked to the curb. That will truly be a sad day.
Re: “Carlotta: Lotta Cars”
The shoulder can be widened without widening the lane. There are designs that can calm traffic, slow it down, while increasing room for pedestrians and cyclists. When is the last time you ventured through Cloverdale? They narrowed the traffic lanes on what used to be 101 using median islands, and bulb-outs, and reduced the speed limit to 25 mph. It's much more friendly to walk and bike through town now. http://www.beachcalifornia.com/cloverdale-california.html
