"Today a large portion of papers and financial support is in gravitational waves..." well yeah, but they were first proposed (by Poincare) in 1905, they just had to wait 100+ years for the technology to improve. (Like the Higgs, proposed half a century before detection.)
"...quantum mechanics, an ugly theory with amazing success have received financial support in the last 100 years"--I think that's her point, that the financial support for QM has gone down the drain, since no real breakthroughs since entanglement (Bell test) experimentally verified in 1980.
Pls cite your examples of "amazing progress" since, say, 1980. I don't see it, other than neutrino mass.
