Re: “Pour One Out: No Humboldt Beer at Oyster Fest

Arcata Bay Oyster Festival: Yet another in the never ending and sad parade of local events/benefits/happenings/boredom-killing that promote continued alcohol abuse among the populace of Humboldt County.

Re: “Local Beefcake: Photos from the Mr. Humboldt Pageant

"Beefcake"? Oh, how very 1970s Playgirl-esque sneering that is, Ms. Cahill.
Humboldt County people, females specifically, many of you are sick.

Why take the #MeToo movement seriously or women's issues in general seriously when so many women have no qualms about engaging in this festival of male body...

Ladies, your protests about misogyny, paternalism and such ring completely hollow when you enthusiastically go for this local gutter depravity.

As for Food for People, I no longer support you. As for North Coast Rape Crisis, the Arcata Family Resource Center, and Planned Parenthood, thanks for reminding me to ignore you.

Re: “'Rid me of This Troublesome Priest'

For those unaware or in denial of the facts:
The Santa Rosa Diocese, part of the debased Roman Catholic Church syndicate, has (and routinely exercises) full jurisdiction over the Roman Catholic-affiliated Providence St. Joseph Health Hospital of Eureka and Redwood Memorial Hospital in Fortuna. Two hospitals that have earned decades of notoriety for being among California's most dangerous to the health of patients, exploitative of employees, and often investigated and cited for serious violations by the California Department of Public Health. The most recent citation being in December of 2018 for the excessive use of restraints on patients:

The Santa Rosa Diocese is central to the toxicity and cancer that pervades much of the so-called health care system in Humboldt County.

Thadeus Greenson should look into the reasons why Dr. Mahoney terminated Dr. Fratkin as St. Joe's director of palliative care as the two walked through the hospital's parking lot.
