Re: “Best New Restaurant

I hope it's more consistent than Salt which can be really good and really bad, actually most of my experiences have been the latter, done with them.

Re: “Geraldine Goldberg Can Do Anything (2017 Staff Pick)

Dear Geraldine. My new email address is: Dr Williams;aka Shaky
sent me the picture of you and the dogs. Your memory is faulty. You would not let me drive you to Garberville hospital, you insisted on driving yourself. Lets hear from you and Harry.
I struggle with the heart condition. Love to all. Ian

Re: “Best Weatherman -- Ever

I worked several years with Jim at the Arcata Airport. I called him Bernard.

Jim told me that he had landed a P/T weather gig at the Eureka TV station and I remarked, gleefully, that I looked forward to him making a total fool of himself on the air. During his earliest weather reports he pointed at reporting points, which were names like Crescent City and Eureka, and talked about that location's temperatures and precipition. The individual reporting locations were low-tech magnets affixed to a map of the north coast. I'm not sure when this happened (perhaps it was his first live on-the-air report), but during his live report he pointed to the Crescent City name magnet "thingy", and while he was talking the magnet began to slip slowly to the bottom of the board to somewhere near San Francisco. He kept pointing at the magnet, as it slipped down the board, without missing a beat. He said something like, "There goes Crescent City." I laughed aloud, turned to my wife and said, "He's good".

Re: “Best of Staff Picks 2016

Esteban fixed me an Enchilada al Pastor this afternoon and when I told him that it was as good as anyting I could make (a compliment I don't often voice)....he grinned happily, thrust his leathery hand across the counter and thanked me. He and his story remind me of my grandparents who came here from Italy, worked hard, built a restaurant around my Nonna's excellent cooking, and established the legendary Big Four Inn--- a superb entry in our culinary history. Thanks NCJ for pointing me toward Esteban!

Re: “Best Myth

The biggest lie,is that god made the Olmec.algae cultivation provided nutrition for intellectual progress.without nutrition only a god can help us.and a bunch of police writing tickets.

Re: “Best Thing to Bitch About

If malnutrition is addressed, with plankton culture on mined plankton, people won't need euphoriats, sedatives and meth.only dealers and rehabs are against it.and governments.mayans grew algae and smoked pot and used LSD like more resources to exploit(rob) now people are not allowed 2square meters to sleep, fed moldy bread, and given every criminal gets a job in Mexico.automatically if he has a tattoo.

Re: “Best Myth

I understand that this is the trend in journalism to drop the f-bomb. I get for this generation it's "only words", but in attempting to appeal to your peers, you appear willing (nay eager) to offend social conservatives.
