Re: “Boom

Richard Pryor wrote Blazing Saddles with Mel Brooks it's got Pryor's humor, insight and irreverence all over it. See our previously declared love of this classic here, cowboy:…

Re: “Who Run the World?

The title is a line from Beyonce's "Run the World (Girls)," in which she asks, "Who run the world?/ Girls." You can enjoy it here:…

Re: “Who Run the World?

I'm not getting the title of the review. Does it just need proofing?

Re: “Bad, Bad Men

I saw this movie, just yesterday. What a horrible piece of crap!!. Gratuitous violence off the charts, ridiculous fight scenes; he gets run over, by cars, two or three times and just gets up and keeps fighting??? Stupid. I got up and walked out after the first hour. Don't waste your money, like I did, on this one.

Re: “Only the Lonely

Actually there are other characters in The Lobster who have names. Ben Whishaw is John, John C, Reilly is introduced as Robert, and the dog's name is Bob.

Re: “Return to Youth

I hated "Bridesmaids" because I didn't find it funny in the slightest. It had absolutely nothing to do with "exclusionary thinking."

Re: “Self/Less Loses Itself

You may not be the target audience for Minions. My kids thought it was hilarious. :)

Re: “The Lady Astonishes

Gone Girl turns to literally unbelievable crap. Save your money, ignore the reviews, and worry -- a lot -- about what has happened to average intelligence.

Re: “Jersey Snore

Wow, terrible review. I really liked the movie, as did my friends. I also read so many reviews from people who really loved the movie - I wouldn't go by one person's opinion! Especially if you like the music and it's a great story, well acted. BTW - one of the best Broadway musicals we've ever seen.

Re: “Overseas Visitors

I liked Godzilla in Jurassic Park III.5 when the plane lands on the Island and both he and the giant purple Barniosaurus immediately attack the people inside and eat them all. It was a disappointingly short movie.

Re: “Amazing

Marvel (Disney) doesn't have the film rights to Spiderman, Sony does. That's why we haven't seen Spidey connected to the Avengers universe. Otherwise, good write up!

Re: “Wolf is a Howl

Additional note for women who may be thinking of viewing this flick: don't. Women are one dimensional objects in this film whose major use and worth is as sex objects. There are numerous scenes in which a naked woman parades in front of a man or men and the man gets instantly turned on and leaps upon said woman and starts to pump away for 20 seconds and then rolls off and lies there panting. The woman also lies there but she has no reason to pant. The only other actions by women are 2 scenes in which the stars current wife slaps him about a bit while screaming hysterically for being the pig that he is. As noted above-this is a boy movie, by and for boys. The reviewer is a boy.

Re: “Wolf is a Howl

There is absolutely nothing "monumental" about The Wolf. It's an overly long (3 hour) flick with about half or more of the time showing people getting fucked up beyond slobber and vomit and endless fuck scenes peppered with numerous male exchanges about the frequency with which they masturbate. BOOORRRING. It is, without question, a boy movie, made by and for boys. Scorsese seems to have used no judgement whatsoever in the cutting room. At least an hour of this tedious piece should have hit the floor. Other than a couple of light and obvious touches of political commentary implied here and there there is little substance to this flick. Don't waste your money.
