Timothy Bonner is an honest golfer and a lifelong womanizer. He looks for love and finds it when he meets the strong willed and tempestuous Carla Bianchi. Bonner prefers temporary "5-hour" relationships on the golf course and with the women he meets in San Diego's Little Italy bar scene. But the volatile Carla Bianchi takes Bonner on a ride that teaches him the lesson of his life.
