The finished lanterns were stacked on boxes Saturday morning at the Arcata plaza, awaiting delivery that evening to the Lantern Floating Ceremony at Arcata Marsh's Klopp Lake.

Event co-organizer Toby Griggs showed up at Klopp Lake with a delivery of battery-powered candles to be placed in the floating lanterns that had been delivered to Klopp Lake. The battery-powered candle replaced actual candles a few years ago because of potential fire danger.
