The three-year-old boy and his mother that have been missing since the car she was driving crashed into a tree about noon on November 30 have been located, according to a friend of the family.

According to scanner traffic, Leggett Fire was dispatched to the scene about 10:50 a.m. after Trinity Bray and her three-year-old son, Anthony, were located.

The two are being taken to Garberville Hospital, according to a family friend. Ms. Bray has some injuries and the child is reported to be suffering from the cold.

Previous: An adult and a child have been located south of Confusion Hill, according to a report over the scanner a little after 11 a.m.

It is believed they may be the McKinleyville mother and child missing after a vehicle crash that left one person with major injuries on November 30.

Searchers combed the area north of the accident for two days. A dog and a drone were used with no success. But this morning, the report over the scanner indicates they may have been found.

CHP officer Rick Fowler confirmed that CHP officers were headed to the area where the adult and child were located to assess the situation.

According to the scanner report, Garberville ambulance was requested to respond to mile marker 98.5 to pick up two patients, one adult and one child.

On November 30, Trinity Bray, her three-year-old son, Anthony Florentine-Perez, and a male friend, Steven Gutierrez, were headed north on U.S. Highway 101 when the vehicle that Bray was driving collided with a tree on the east side of the road for unknown reasons south of Confusion Hill. Gutierrez received major injuries in the crash.

Bray took her son, Anthony, and began walking north, according to a witness. Before officers arrived at the scene, Bray and her son were gone.

On Thursday, December 4, 2020, at 11 AM, the CHP Humboldt Communications Center received a report of a female pedestrian with a juvenile on US-101, north of Leggett, who appeared in distress. Upon CHP officers' arrival, the female pedestrian and the juvenile were confirmed to be Ms. Trinity Leigh Bray and her 3-year-old son, Anthony Florentine-Perez, who were last seen walking away from a major injury traffic collision on US-101 near Confusion Hill on November 30, 2020. Bray and Florentine-Perez, who were since reported as missing and endangered, were found in stable condition and transported to a nearby hospital where they are receiving medical care.

Following the traffic collision on November 30, Mendocino County Sheriff Department Search and Rescue personnel conducted a comprehensive multi-day search of the area near the traffic collision. The search included a team of search and rescue members on foot, aerial drones, FLIR thermal imaging equipment, a search of the Eel River by Southern Humboldt Technical Rescue, and a CHP helicopter aerial search. A search of the area, which included steep terrain, resulted in no obvious signs of Bray and Florentine-Perez having been in the area.

The CHP is grateful for this positive outcome and is still working to gather details regarding what occurred between the accident and the pair’s discovery.
