Fall is here.

Along with pumpkin spiders weaving their webs and Halloween decorations already popping up around town, moderate rain is in the forecast this week, according to the Eureka office of the National Weather Service.

The rain is expected to begin hitting Del Norte County late Wednesday afternoon before making its way into inland and southeast Humboldt County then tapering off to showers on Thursday, which may make roads slick.

Meanwhile, the first significant swell of the season is also expected to arrive Wednesday night and Thursday, with NWS warning this will likely create hazardous conditions on local beaches and may increase “the potential for shoaling.”
