PREVIOUS:

The Humboldt County Sheriff's Office has now issued an evacuation warning in Southern Humboldt that includes the town of Garberville and areas west of Bell Springs Road to U.S. Highway 101 from Alderpoint Road to the Mendocino-Trinity county line.

"Prepare for potential evacuations, including personal supplies and overnight accommodations," a Facebook post states. "Be ready to go at a moment's notice. More information will follow IF an Evacuation Order is issued."

Humboldt County OES has also created a dedicated wildfire evacuation information line for Humboldt County, which can be reached at 268-2500, for people needing evacuation information or assistance.

For general fire information, however, people are asked to visit www.humboldtsheriff.org or @HumCoOES on Facebook and Twitter.

Earlier today, the areas of Alderpoint, Palo Verde, Island Mountain and Harris were all evacuated as the Hopkins Fire spread west from Trinity County.
