McKinleyville Man's Death Investigated as Homicide

The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a McKinleyville man as a homicide after his body was found near Orleans on Aug. 24.

According to a news release, the remains have been identified as 64-year-old Robert Mark Coffer.

“This is an active investigation,” the release states. “To protect the integrity of this investigation, further information will be released when available and appropriate.”

The Humboldt County Coroner’s Office has identified a deceased individual located near Orleans on Aug. 24, 2020 as 64-year-old Robert Mark Coffer of McKinleyville. Coffer’s death is being investigated as a homicide.
