The county’s COVID-19 information center reports that appointments to be tested at a pop-up site in McKinleyville on June 29 have filled up.

A second pop-up site has been scheduled for July 6 from 8:30 a.m. to noon. To schedule a test for that date, call 268-2503.

Humboldt County residents can also visit the mobile testing site at Redwood Acres Fairgrounds. (People experiencing symptoms should contact a healthcare provider, officials say.) Asymptomatic individuals can make an appointment to be tested by visiting https://Lhi.care/covidtesting or calling (888) 634-1123. Tests will be administered free of charge, whether or not people have health insurance.

Five new cases were reported today, one day after the county had nine confirmed COVID-19 cases, the largest single day total since April 2, while another local resident tested positive in Trinity County after residing there for a few weeks ago.
