The Humboldt County Coroner’s Office has identified the man fatally shot in Southern Humboldt early Thursday morning as David Oney Hanna, 28, who had been living in Phillipsville.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Saturday, according to a news release.

Another person who suffered head wounds has been determined to be a person of interest and is cooperating in the investigation, officials have reported. Read previous coverage of the shooting here.

According to the Humboldt County Coroner's Office, this is the 10th homicide recorded so far this year in the county.

The Humboldt County Coroner’s Office has positively identified the deceased person from the Phillipsville shooting as David Oney Hanna, age 28. Hanna was a Humboldt County resident who was living in Phillipsville at the time of his death.
A forensic autopsy is scheduled for Saturday, September 22, 2018. More information may be released after that time.
