Photos: Dia de los Muertos Celebration

Central del Pueblo, Cal Poly Humboldt El Centro Académico Cultural, Arcata Playhouse, Los Bagels and Arcata Main Street created a beautiful Dia de los Muertos Celebration on Sunday that began at Cal Poly Humboldt at 4 p.m., headed for a stop with members of Centro del Pueblo at the Jardín del Santuario (Sanctuary Garden) at 11th and F streets, and ended with a Community Potluck Celebration at the Los Bagels parking lot and on I Street.
Attendees enjoyed the free Dead Bread by Los Bagels (including an option to decorate your own), free food from Esteban’s, a community street mural with Centro del Pueblo, and dance and music performances by Danza Azteca, Ballet Folklórico de Humboldt and Humboldt Mariachi. It indeed was a day to celebrate, not mourn.
