One of Japan's most popular modern taiko drumming groups Yamato stops off in Arcata for a performance of its newest production The Challengers at HSU's Van Duzer Theater tonight at 7 p.m. ($39). Expect an evening of complex dances, masterful multi-instrumentation and elaborate costumes all to the beat of the broad family of percussion instruments that make up the taiko tradition.
