Blue Lake's Logger Bar (510 Railroad Ave.) wants to keep you on your toes. This Friday, May 2, rock and roll is out and folksy bluegrass is in. The fathers and sons band, Doug Fir & the 2x4s, were slated to take the stage, but Caitlin Jemma & The Long Gone Stringband have stepped up to take their place.
The bluegrass ensemble has released a their new EP, "Lick Them Wounds," and you can get a taste (of the album, not the wounds) for free on Friday at 8:30pm.
Never fear, you have other opportunities to see Doug Fir & the 2x4s this month. They play at Blue Lake Casino's Wave Lounge (777 Casino Way) on May 23 and at Cher-ae Heights' Firewater Lounge (27 Scenic Drive, Trinidad) on May 31. Both shows are free and they both start at 9 p.m.
