“I will fight so hard,” Caffrey said, before choking up with emotion and noting that he is a medical marijuana patient. “I will never ever let the federal government take our medicine away.”
“It will be an incredible failure of the entire hippie generation if ya’ll die without legalizing marijuana,” he said, easily gaining the loudest applause of the night.
After the debate went off the air and a few candidates had already left the building, Maiden Humboldt founder and event organizer Dave Sky took to the stage and shouted the results of an impromptu straw poll of those in attendance that evening. For what it’s worth, here are the results of the “Emerald City” mock caucus: Andy Caffrey, 15; Stacey Lawson, 5; Normon Solomon and Tiffany Renée, 4; Jared Huffman and Dr. William Courtney, 3; Susan Adams and John Lewallen, 2; Dan Roberts, 1; Brooke Clarke, 0.

Thank you. I listened on and off but had company so missed some. I’ve been wondering what I missed and who had won the straw poll.

“(insert your American electoral process injustice here)”.
It would suffice to, at least, inform readers that half the potential electorate doesn’t even participate in U.S.elections! A fact that every media source always manages to avoid during every election.
This is the primary reason the democratic party junta still tries to appeal to the sensibilities of their opponents.
I still can’t believe that Norman Solomon is a candidate…the only one who has mastered the issues after effectively advancing democratic ideals his entire life.
In D.C., it’s all about alliances formed by calm, knowledgeable and convincing debate.
Instead, democrats calculate their “pragmatic” wins by marketing “average Joe” candidates….the lesser evils of disappointing poor-performers.

Who contributes to Jared Huffman? Will he represent us or them?
Walmart, Wells Fargo, AT&T, Time Warner, Wineries?

Notice how much money Huffman has taken from local wineries in Sonoma, Napa, and Marin Counties? If you are a resident of Del Norte, Humboldt, and/or Mendocino Counties you won’t be represented by Huffman. Businesses in the southern region of the District will own Huffman. And the protection of the environment in the north will not be part of Huffman’s agenda. Money is worth more than our ecosystem. Wineries are ruining our rivers and salmon.

Vote for anybody but Huffman in 2012!
