“you’re giving up 35 percent that would have gone to the pulp mill”…said the exporting pot to the exporting kettle.

What an interesting article! It raises alot of questions and shows the very differing, but thoughtful, opinions of how to best serve the local community in an economic downturn. predicting the future is a dangerous game with so many factors at stake. But if we continue to have broadminded thinkers with a heart for the individual worker we will all have a chance at prosperity.

I thought this issue was settled years ago when PALCO tried to get a law passed that would declare a redwood log that was cut in two “processed” so PALCO could ship them to a planned mill in Baja California, Mexico.

Seems to me to be same issue: some loggers and a logging company get some work and the mills and pulp plants go out of business.

We need to wake up before our land turns to a useless nothingness. What I admire about China, is that it protects its resources and travels thousands of miles to use others’ territory. Those mills need to be closed and our minds should be geared towards finding useful work and turning a lose lose situation to Win big time one. Once the trees are gone, the birds will go; the animals will vanish and then guess what…human will go…where? Have no clue ask the logging lords, or THE LORDS OF LOGGIN
