Enter the Backlash

Wise voters will cover their heads for the next few months, because the mud is going to be flying in from all directions. The idea will be to obscure the technicalities of the thing itself, and to replace them with seething anger, conspiracy and innuendo at the personalities behind the project, or behind the opposition to the project. Political people know that’s what gets out the vote, but care little about the fact that it leaves us all stupider.

This election is all about the general plan. Hank mentions who gave $10K to Bonnie, but look at who gave $50k to Bass. The developers, who want to clear cut, subdivide, build and move on.

Arkley does not live here any more, he’s moved to Louisiana.

God help us if the restaurant hostess wins the Supervisors seat.

Agreed, have you seen the outragously massive subdivision these developers are now trying to put in across from College Cove??!!

So the greedy developers are moving from HomeDepot to pushing for hundreds of new homes of no less than an acre in Trinidad… Keep on your toes people, they are all around us. Probably from out of town.

When will the madness end?

I don’t know about that. I see him drive by my house fairly often. His official residence may be out of state but he still spends time here.

Perhaps we should make get a ballot initiative demanding a master use plan on the balloon tract before the city can issue any further permits to develop the site. This is the last piece of public use land in the city right? No reason to give up turning it into something everyone in eureka can benefit from with out a fight..
