(July 16, 2009) Last week’s story on Lake County medical marijuana martyr Eddy Lepp contained an error concerning Lepp’s federal prison sentence (“Pot Hero,” June 9). The story stated that Lepp’s received the “maximum sentence under the law”; in fact, Judge Marilyn Patel gave Lepp the minimum sentence possible under federal sentencing guidelines.
Because of an editing error, the July 2 cover story (“Broken Blue Line”) misstated the type of administrative hearing that former Eureka Police Department services employee Suzie Owsley testified at on June 9. It was workers’ compensation hearing, not an Equal Employment Opportunity Commission hearing.
The Journal regrets the errors.
Will Plaza Point put the kibosh on Arcata whippersnapper shenanigans?
