FEATHERED FRIENDS
Description: Come discover the lives of birds with games, songs, a visit with birds of prey and a trip to a birdwatching hot spot.
Ages: 4-8.
When: 10 a.m.-noon (ages 4-5), 1-4 p.m. (ages 6-8), July 6-10.

SEA CREATURE SAFARI
Description: Learn about the mysterious creatures of the ocean through touch, craft and field trips.
Ages: 4-9.
When: 9 a.m.-noon July 13-17 (ages 7-9); 1-3 p.m. Aug. 3-7 (ages 4-5).
Where: Natural History Museum, 1315 G St., Arcata.
Cost: $65/$75 nonmembers (ages 4-5), $85/$95 nonmembers (ages 7-9).

GO TEAM GREEN!
Description: In partnership with the North Coast Environmental Center and the Arcata Community Recycling Center. Find out how to help the earth by being and energy officer and a litter getter.
Ages: 4-8.
When: 10 a.m.-noon (ages 4-5), 1-4 p.m. (ages 6-8), July 20-24.

Description: Learn techniques for sharing your feelings about nature through artwork.

Cost: $85/$95 (non-members) plus $15 materials fee.

WILD IN THE CITY
Description: Learn about the plants and animals in and around our neighborhood while playing games, making crafts and singing songs.
Ages: 7-10.
When: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Aug. 17-21.

Cost: $150/$170 nonmembers.

REPTILES AND AMPHIBIANS
Description: Learn about totally cool, scaly and slithery creatures.
Ages: 4-5.
When: 10 a.m.-noon, Aug. 3-7.

MARSH AND DUNE EXPLORERS
Description: Come spend a week exploring the Arcata Marsh and discover its secrets. Find out about interesting animals that make the marsh their home. Use buckets, jilly jars, trowels, nets, microscopes, binoculars and even hula hoops.
Ages: 7-9.
When: 1-4 p.m., Aug. 3-7.
Where: 2 days at Arcata Marsh and 3 days at the Humboldt Coastal Nature Center in Manila.
Cost: $85/$95 nonmembers.

FARMTASTIC SCIENCE
Description: Learn about the components of soil, examine how plants grow and discover the animals that make the farm their home.
Ages: 6-8.
