I rarely agree with ms. De Rooy but I agree on this one. CASA made copies (against the law) of an interview with my friends daughter and provied copies of tapes to a local police department. Then refused to help the single parent or child and essentially advised the DA to not press charges.

Rapes are still occurring by the same gang and my friend is currently under the witness protection program because of my friends efforts to get the perpetrators arrested. They were arrested under different charges and have been released.

I was a CASA advocate for over 3 1/2 years. My case was two brothers & their sister had a female CASA.

I agree with De Rooy in that the system is broken. The social worker was completly incompetant & wanted to take the children away from their grandmother (who was doing the best she could & provided a stable home) and give them to the father who was trouble with a capital “T” & living in his van.

But I disagree with De rooy because I know the good CASA can do. Judge Thomas listened to me & after more than a year of testifying in court ruled in favor of the grandmother.

CASA saved those children from an awful future.
